Join the 9Zero's 🌐 Creative Cluster for a fireside chat with former editor of Sierra Magazine (of the Sierra Club), Surfer Magazine, and Stanford Business Magazine, Steve Hawk, to promote the release of his debut novel, Nearshore.During this event, participants will first join for an informal networking social and then listen in on a Q+A session between Steve and 9Zero's own Climate Cluster member Jimmy Rogers from Redwood Climate Communications.Attendees will hear insights from Steve's journalism career, details from his book (set in the Bay Area), how to tell good environmental stories, the implications of AI and tech on the city, surfing, nature writing, and more.Copies of Steve's book will also be available for purchase at the event from Ink Spell Books. About Steve: Steve Hawk is the former editor of Surfer, Sierra, and Stanford Business magazines, and of surfline.com. His first book, Waves, explores the science and aesthetics of ocean waves. He is currently co-writing a book with his brother, Tony Hawk, about the history and culture of skateboarding. He lives near Half Moon Bay, California, where he spends as much time as possible frolicking in the ocean. Nearshore is his first novel.
