AI arrived in a lot of people's work and lives without asking. Everyone around you seems to have figured it out. You've tried a tool or two, closed the tab, and quietly wondered whether you're the only one who doesn't get it. Or maybe you get it fine — and something in you doesn't want to hand everything over.
This workshop is for both of those people. It's not a tools demo and it's not a warning. It's three hours to slow down, get honest about what AI is actually changing, and decide — deliberately — what you want to adopt and what you want to keep human.
We start with the feeling. Being "behind" is not a personal failure; it's what it feels like when a big change moves faster than the conversation about it. We look at what's real and what's hype, and at the gaps nobody explains: who this is built for, what it costs, where the ethics get uncomfortable. Then each person finds their own line — the things they'd refuse to hand over even if AI did them better. Lines differ. That's the point.
The last part is practical. If you run a small business or work for yourself, you'll leave with one real thing AI can do for you this week — chosen on purpose, not out of panic — and one thing you're keeping human, also on purpose. Both are decisions. Agency is choosing.
You don't need any technical background. You need one honest question about AI and your work or life, and a willingness to talk about it with other people who are figuring it out too.
Three pain points
Everyone else seems to get AI, and I feel behind and slightly ashamed of it.
I don't know what's real, what's hype, and what it's actually costing me or the people around me.
I run a small business or work for myself, and I can't tell where AI would help and where it would quietly take something I care about.
Participants leave with
A clearer, calmer picture of what AI is changing in their work and life — and what isn't changing.
Their own line: what they'll hand over, what stays human, and why.
One concrete, deliberate first use of AI for their business or work, and one thing they've decided to keep.
Who it's for
General public — anyone who feels left behind by AI and wants to catch up without losing themselves. Small business owners and independent professionals will get an extra practical layer. No technical background needed. Not for people looking for a tools tutorial or an AI pep talk.
What happens in the room
Guided reflection, small-group and pair conversation, honest sensemaking about ethics and gaps, and a hands-on segment where you pick and try one real use. Phones welcome for the practical part; put them away for the rest.
This event is hosted at the Frontier Tower:
We are transforming a 16-floor tower in San Francisco into a self-governed vertical village—a hub for frontier technologies and creative arts. Tier-one labs presenting AI, Ethereum, biotech, neuroscience, longevity, robotics, makerspace, human flourishing, and arts & music. These floors will house innovators and creators pushing the boundaries of human potential in a post-AI-singularity world.
