Amy D brings her luminescent voice and timeless sound to Mr. Tipple’s Recording Studio — a San Jose native now based in Oakland, she has graced stages throughout the Bay Area and beyond since 2010, including SFJAZZ, Yoshi’s Oakland, San Jose Jazz Summer Fest, and the Healdsburg Jazz Festival, drawing from jazz, soul, and R&B with effortless warmth. Her debut album Like Youwas co-produced with Michael Aaberg (Goapele, Lalah Hathaway, Derrick Hodge), and she is joined tonight by William Bohrer on guitar, Lukas Vesely on bass, and David Aguiar on drums — a tight band framing the kind of voice that makes Great American Songbook standards and Quiet Storm R&B feel like they were always meant to be sung together.
