Angela LaFlamme brings her six-piece band Megaflame to The Deluxe for a show that is anything but a retro jukebox — drawing on favorites from Billie Holiday to Tom Waits, the Cure to Count Basie, and her own original material, this San Francisco sextet deftly re-imagines eight decades of beloved music into one swinging, soulful live experience. The Huffington Post called them “a fantastic band… sexy and sleek,” and with Angela LaFlamme on vocals, Timothy Orr on drums, Greg Olwell on double bass, Jeff Hobbs on violin and saxophone, Myles Boisen on guitar, and Michael Risse on piano, it’s easy to hear why.
