Animals Movie Night! Spider Monkeys in Bolivia

Mox Event Space (Mission 13th St) Event source calendar Event Link: see venue calendar above ^^ Deep in the Bolivian Amazon, infant spider monkeys Ñoqui, Cesar, and Ness have been rescued from hunters and the illegal pet trade. But returning to the jungle without their mothers is far from a straightforward rescue and release. Arrested Autonomy follows their uncertain journey as they attempt to reclaim their place in the wild, questioning whether a second chance at true freedom is possible when that freedom must be brokered by humans. Arrested Autonomy has been selected for numerous international film festivals including Best Documentary at Caravan International Film Festival, Official selection at S.O.FA., Eco Film festival by Chysto.de, EcoFrames Environmental Film Festival, and more.
