Arnie Sainz Quintet at Mr. Tipple’s features New York City–based pianist, composer, and educator Arnie Sainz bringing a deeply rooted Bay Area sensibility to an intimate modern jazz setting. Joined by Alistair Johnston on tenor saxophone, Robert Papacica on guitar, Jared Beckstead on bass, and Michael Mitchell on drums, Sainz draws on experience across new music and improvised music, plus performances at Dizzy’s Club, Jazz Club at the Aman, and other notable venues, for a set of original, forward-looking jazz shaped by his debut album Darts and upcoming projects.
