Featuring a selection of new landscape paintings inspired by the quiet beauty found within San Francisco’s treasured urban landscapes. Victoria Veedell Drawn to the Light: Paintings from the Presidio Reception for the Artist Sunday September 13th 2-4pm Regular hours: Thursday - Saturday 2-6pm Sunday - Wednesday by appointment Walks through the Presidio have become an essential part of Veedell's creative practice. Each visit offers a different experience as shifting fog and fleeting light transform familiar places. Rather than painting a literal view, Veedell begins with the memory of a place. She allows that memory to evolve in the studio, using imagination and expressive color to move beyond observation to capture not only the beauty of the place, but the emotional experience of being there. The result is a series of paintings that feel both familiar and dreamlike, inviting viewers to recall their own moments of connection. “The Presidio is a place I return to again and again because the light is never the same. Every visit reveals something, the way fog softens the landscape, the glow of evening light through the trees, or a fleeting reflection across the marsh.
