In this program, we explore how the U.S.-Iran conflict and disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz impact global oil, gas, and energy security, including in the United States, analyzing maritime blockages, sudden price spikes, emergency reserves, and economic vulnerabilities. UC Berkeley’s Prof. Severin Borenstein is the faculty director of the Energy Institute at Haas and has published widely on energy topics.
