Join us to hear about the extraordinary life and legacy of American aviation hero Chuck Yeager, presented by his widow Victoria Yeager. She traces Chuck’s journey from a curious, hardworking boy who grew up in the hills of West Virginia to a fearless pilot who changed the course of aviation history. She illustrates Yeager’s service in World War II as a fighter pilot, his daring escape after being shot down over France, his rise as a decorated ace, and his breaking the sound barrier on October 14, 1947, flying faster than MACH 1, the speed of sound, in a Bell X-1.  Victoria Yeager will also share an excerpt from The Quest for Mach One, a documentary focusing on the historic first supersonic flight, which was rereleased recently by the Flight Test Museum at Edwards Air Force Base.
