Talk — The History of the Cypherpunks & the Bay Area Counterculture (Morgan G Hough - m9h):
How the Cypherpunk movement emerged right here in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1992 out of Berkeley's Community Memory (the
world's first public BBS), The WELL, Mondo 2000 ("St. Jude" Milhon), Eric Hughes's A Cypherpunk's Manifesto, and John
Gilmore's cypherpunks@toad.com server in Haight-Ashbury—and how it connects to modern vertical villages and bio/tech hackerspaces like Paris's La Paillasse and La Quadrature du Net.

Counter-Surveillance, Ad-Tech & Cognitive Security: Dissecting spyware disclosures from The Citizen Lab (with the Mobile

This event is hosted at the Frontier Tower:
We are transforming a 16-floor tower in San Francisco into a self-governed vertical village—a hub for frontier technologies and creative arts. Tier-one labs presenting AI, Ethereum, biotech, neuroscience, longevity, robotics, makerspace, human flourishing, and arts & music. These floors will house innovators and creators pushing the boundaries of human potential in a post-AI-singularity world.
