Weekend One at Dance Mission Theater explores this year’s Festival theme: Legacy of Liberation! Weekend One showcases films that illustrate the influence of dance storytelling on culture and innovation. Delina Patrice Brooks will discuss her documentary series, Bare Soles Bare Soul, and Ishika Seth will share insights into three short films from Ishami Dance Company: Ancestor Song, Because You’re a Woman, and Teele Dharo. World Arts West will present digitized archival footage from the Multicultural Archiving Project (MAP). Join us for a Q&A afterwards with the filmmakers!
