Caleb DuarteEMBASSY OF THE REFUGEE A Public Happening July 25, 2026 | 1–8 PM Fulton Plaza & Pioneer Monument San Francisco Civic Center Join us for a day of performance, music, ceremony, conversation, and collective memory as artists from Guatemala, Mexico, and across the United States activate the Pioneer Monument through site-specific works that reimagine public space and the stories our monuments tell. Featuring performances by: • Regina José Galindo (Guatemala) • Marlyn Boror Bor (Guatemala) • Mia Eve Rollow • La Pocha Nostra – Phantom Mariachi ●Baaits ●La Gente ●Banda Sin Nombre ●Inti Mystica guest artists, community workshops, ceremonial gatherings, live music, and more. Over the past two months, Embassy of the Refugee has transformed the Pioneer Monument into a living site of dialogue, resilience, and collective imagination. Wrapped in reflective gold and built alongside communities in movement and artist ambassadors, the scaffold has become a monument to labor, migration, and belonging. This free public event marks the culmination of the residency and invites everyone to imagine new forms of public memory.
