Future of Us Event Link ⚡️Every Body Moves: House Dance Freestyle Training Love to dance? Come share the love. We all know the best night out is when everyone on the dance floor feels free, when everyone is freestyling and grooving without needing permission. This is where culture grows and community tightens. Dancing freely isn’t easy when the systems of our daily life are designed to keep us apart. For the week of the Future of Us Festival, we are bringing together OG Bay Area street dancers and DJs to give people a taste of freedom on the dance floor, rooted in the encoded language of street dance. Learn foundational House dance with Jardy Santiago Foundational moves for freestyle How to invite people to dance without pressure How to create the kind of dance floor you wish existed everywhere You'll receive free admission to the final Future of Us event: Every Body Moves, a street dance class and DJ party where you'll help give people a taste of how fun and rewarding it can be to be brave, embodied, and connected through the power of a shared cultural language. Don't forget to register for the dance party Register for the Main Event: Every Body Moves Dance Class & Party Sunday, July 12 4:00-7:00 PM, The Fold - Register Join the other Freestyle Trainings: Hip Hop Freestyle Training Tuesday, July 7, 6:30-7:30 PM – Register Waacking Freestyle Training Thursday, July 9, 6:30-7:30 PM, - Register About the Venue The Fold is a member-run "third space" in San Francisco designed to prototype affirmative futures. We curate the conditions for emergent collaboration through serendipitous encounters, serious play, radical hospitality, and a commitment to regenerative mutualism. The Fold functions as a gallery, cafe, and workshop all at once—designed to linger in, not just pass through. Parking & Transportation We highly recommend utilizing public transit or rideshare apps, as the venue is located in the Mission and parking in the area can be limited. Public Transportation: The venue is a 6 minute walk (approx. 0.3 miles) from the 24th Street / Mission Station . Several major bus lines run nearby, including the 14, 14R, 48, 49 (which drop off near 26th street) Parking: Limited metered and hourly street parking is available on neighboring streets, with a few two hour parking spots sometimes available. Please read all posted signs carefully regarding time limits and street sweeping. Accessibility & Considerations No Elevator Access: The venue is located on the ground floor with no stairs. The weekday dance classes will be downstairs while the weekend party will be on the ground floor. Unfortunately, there is no ramp access for the downstairs class. We sincerely apologize to our friends in the community for whom this poses a barrier to entry. Seating: This is a high-energy, standing, and dancing event. Limited perimeter seating will be available for those who need a break from the dance floor, but expect a mostly open, high-movement space. Sensory Note: If you are sensitive to loud environments, we highly recommend bringing earplugs. About the Future of Us Festival Launching on America's 250th anniversary, the inaugural Future of Us festival is a 10-day celebration of civic imagination and possibility. We're turning community-sourced, expert-crafted visions of the future into art, storytelling, and participatory experiences. With 100+ events spanning every corner of the city (floral labyrinths, speculative future worlds, dance parties with a purpose, and neighborhood meet-ups), it's a living exploration of what a more creative and generative civic culture could feel like. Organized around four themes (Green Futures, Social Futures, Science & Tech Futures, and Media Futures), Future of Us is breaking down the barriers between art, ideas, and each other, and everyone is invited to co-imagine what comes next. ⚡ Learn more: future-of-us.com About the Future Culture Fellows Program The Future Culture Fellowship is a yearlong program that resource…
