Gaucho

Gaucho brings their uniquely American musical concoction to The Deluxe — a masterful Bay Area band that blends the gypsy jazz of 1930s Europe with the rhythmic drive of New Orleans swing, gutbucket blues, and ragtime into something wholly their own. A San Francisco mainstay for nearly twenty years and one of the busiest bands in the Bay playing five to ten gigs a week, the group is led by founder, guitarist, and composer Dave Ricketts alongside virtuosos Rob Reich on accordion, Craig Venetresco on guitar, bassist Ari Munkres, and percussionist Steve Apple. Steeped in the spirit of Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller, and Jimmie Rodgers, Gaucho celebrates the full sweep of American music from 1900 to the 1950s with instrumental acuity, complex rhythms, and just the right touch of lighthearted humor.
