Jon Otis & BluBeatz appear at The Saloon in North Beach, bringing a sound that draws on jazz, blues, R&B, rock and roll, pop, salsa, Latin jazz, Brazilian, Afro‑Caribbean, folk, classical, and Middle Eastern‑influenced rhythms. Led by drummer, percussionist, and vocalist Jon Otis, son of “Godfather of Rhythm and Blues” Johnny Otis, the band’s groove‑focused sets are presented in the no‑frills, historically rooted environment of San Francisco’s oldest bar.
