Los Tangueros del Oeste

Latin Grammy–nominated electro-acoustic ensemble Los Tangueros del Oeste brings their groundbreaking nuevo tango sound to The Deluxe in the Upper Haight. Founded and led by acclaimed bassist and composer Sascha Jacobsen, the group reimagines traditional Argentine tango by weaving in modern electronic textures, hip-hop beats, and jazz improvisation alongside traditional bandoneón, violin, piano, and upright bass. Drawing inspiration from Astor Piazzolla, Gotan Project, and Golden Age tango orchestras, their high-energy, cinematic set blends driving dance rhythms with dark, passionate harmonic interplay, creating a fresh, contemporary take on urban chamber music made for listening and dancing alike.
