Partiful discover page Event Link Most importantly: you’re all awesome. You signed up to a stranger’s event because you wanted to make a friend. You put yourself out there to meet people you don’t know, which is hard, and you did it anyway. So thank you. That took guts, and I'm not going to let that go to waste. What to expect: 🦆 A giant game of duck duck goose (yes, as adults, and yes, you will run) 🧊 Icebreaker bingo, with gift bags full of goodies from our partners for the first 50 people to complete it 💕 General picnic wholesomeness What to bring: 🧺 Your own picnic setup, food and drinks included. Expecting others to provide for you ain't cool. Be cool & self sufficient. 🧺 Board games and card games, if you’re a nerd like me. Set them out on your blanket and invite people over to play. It’s the easiest way to make a friend. One more ask: I want to give back to the city that’s bringing us all together. If you’re able, please bring a donation for the Mission Neighborhood Resource Center (MNRC). They operate on a harm-reduction model focused on dignity, community-building, and meeting basic human needs while residents move toward greater stability and well-being. All services are bilingual, drop-in, and open to adults 18+. Learn more: mnhc.org/en/community-programs/resource-center What they need: 🙏Underwear (any gender, all adult sizes) 🙏Disposable razors 🙏Feminine hygiene products 🙏Travel-sized hygiene products (shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, toothbrushes) Please no other clothing, food, kids’ items, or anything used. Ground rules: 🛑 Be a decent human being. Respect everyone in attendance. If you’re a creep, I will shame you with the lilac megaphone I purchased for this event. 🛑 Emergencies: call 911. There will be a basic first aid kit, but that’s it. 🛑 Keep your dogs on leash. 🛑 Take your trash with you. Don’t make me clean up after you. I’m trying to be your friend, not your mom (not that she should be cleaning up after you either). Somehow this whole thing became news. The SF Standard wrote about the picnic: sfstandard.com/2026/09/12/viral-sf-picnic-city-permit/ Athena and I are excited to meet all of you! --- I'm still new to the Bay, and this is still the most extroverted thing an introvert can dream up: inviting a pile of strangers to come sit in the grass with me. My social battery is finite. My love of people, picnics, and the specific magic of introducing two people who end up becoming real friends is not. Bring your own picnic setup: a blanket, drinks, snacks, whatever makes sitting in the grass feel a little luxurious. I'll either be the redhead having a solo picnic reading something objectively terrible on Kindle Unlimited, or the redhead surrounded by people looking a little overwhelmed because this happened again. Athena, my dog, will be there too, asking you to throw her ball or slip her a snack. She has no shame about it. Either way, come say hi. location provided by event source: "Potrero del Sol Park (La Raza), Portrero Avenue and 25th Street, San Francisco, CA" ―――――――――― SF Stuff To Do
