Brazilian-born Marc Zollinger is a San Francisco–based guitarist, composer, and teacher who appears at Amélie on in a Brazilian/Bossa Nova duo setting. Drawing on jazz, Brazilian music, and avant-garde influences, and on studies with figures such as Roscoe Mitchell, Fred Frith, and Zeena Parkins at Berklee College of Music and Mills College, he brings a refined, intimate approach to the classic bossa nova songbook and related Brazilian repertoire. The result is a warm, quietly sophisticated evening of guitar-driven Brazilian grooves — an ideal live soundtrack for wine, conversation, and close listening at Amélie.
