Future of Us Event Link Imagine a world where wellness is a sustainable and generous part of our culture. Our No Waste Wellness hub is a celebration of abundance without excess — where flowers, candles, books, and other small treasures find new hands, and nothing goes to waste. ⚡ This event is part of our Civic Futures day. Check out the Volunteer Celebration and Wrap Party happening at The Pearl less than a 15 minute walk away ⚡ ―――――――――― About the Event: Explore visions for a future where wellness and sustainability aren't separate pursuits, where caring for ourselves and caring for the planet reinforce each other, and where abundance comes not from accumulating more but from sharing what we already have. Through exchange, nourishment, and small acts of generosity, we imagine a circular culture where both people and the planet flourish. Bring empty vessels, a favorite book to gift, a spirit of exchange – and leave with something fresh and beautiful. Candle Refill: 10:30-1:30pm: Vessel drop off 1:30-4pm: Candle production 4-5:30pm: Candle pickup Please note – vessels must be appropriate for candles (hot wax) in order to be refilled, and less than 10oz in volume size. One vessel per individual will be refilled. You will be able to select a scent from our plant-based fragrance oils, or choose to have your candle refill be unscented. To pick up a bouquet: BYOV – bring your own vase! Alongside any extras you want to donate and leave behind! 10:30am - 4:00pm – Bouquet and vase station (until they run out!) ―――――――――― What to Expect: Additional stations to be announced. • Free Candle Refills: Hosted by one of the most thoughtful, intentional, and community-driven candlemakers in the Bay Area, Casita Michi will be on-site refilling your vessels – free of charge (while the wax lasts!). • Surplus Bouquets: Local, seasonal and sustainable florist Bright Moments will be sharing pay-what-you-can bouquets made of the season's surplus flowers, keeping them from going to waste! As a mission-driven org, they'll be sharing their story and approach to keeping flowers as sustainable as they are beautiful. • Favorite Book Swap: Bring a book you loved but are ready to swap! We'll have a note station for you to write a letter to the next person who brings it home, sharing a little bit about why you loved it. • Custom Hair Oil Blending: Craft your own nourishing hair oil using natural, sustainable ingredients designed to care for both your body and the planet. • Wellness Gift Exchange: Have something you love that you want to gift to others? A favorite tea, a soap, a blanket – we'll have a station for gift exchanges, so we can take care of each other. We encourage you to leave a note for the person who chooses your gift! • Community Lounge: Dogpatch Hub is a neighborhood treasure. Settle in and connect with your fellow sustainable wellbeing-ers! • Open Art Galleries: Across the street, keep the nourishment going with a tour through the free and open art galleries at Minnesota Street Project. Check out their First Saturday events from 4-7! ―――――――――― Planning Your Trip: Parking & Transportation Street parking is available but limited — we recommend public transit or rideshare. The Hub is a short walk from the T Third Street light rail (20th Street and 23rd Street stations are each a few blocks away), and the 22, 48, and 55 bus lines serve the neighborhood. Coming from down the Peninsula? Caltrain's 22nd Street station is about a 10-minute walk. Accessibility & Considerations Most of our stations will be available downstairs and wheelchair accessible. Please reach out to our partners at Dogpatch Hub for more information about building accessibility. ―――――――――― ⚡ About the Future of Us Festival Launching on America's 250th anniversary, the inaugural Future of Us festival is a 10-day celebration of civic imagination and possibility.
