Other Minds Present: Alien Minds and Alien Oceans - Members +3

Other Minds present: Alien Minds and Alien Oceans Beneath the icy surfaces of moons throughout our Solar System lie vast hidden oceans. Some, such as those of Europa and Enceladus, are among the most promising places to search for extraterrestrial life. Others, including Ariel and Miranda around Uranus, challenge our assumptions with their strange and unexpected geology. Still others, like Callisto, may harbor oceans yet remain entirely lifeless. What makes an ocean world habitable? What kinds of life might evolve in these dark, isolated seas? And if intelligence arose there, how would we recognize it? Join Other Minds, a research community exploring diverse forms of intelligence, for an interactive panel and salon discussion on ocean worlds, astrobiology, and the possibilities of life beneath alien ice. No background in planetary science is required, just curiosity and a willingness to explore what may be waiting in the oceans of distant worlds. Panelists [so far]: Caleb Strom -- Planetary scientist Megan Shabram -- consciousness researcher with background in astrobiology LIsa Walker -- SETI researcher specialist in whale communication" This event is hosted at the Frontier Tower: We are transforming a 16-floor tower in San Francisco into a self-governed vertical village—a hub for frontier technologies and creative arts. Tier-one labs presenting AI, Ethereum, biotech, neuroscience, longevity, robotics, makerspace, human flourishing, and arts & music. These floors will house innovators and creators pushing the boundaries of human potential in a post-AI-singularity world.
