“It’s vaudevillian in its delivery, dark and soaring at once.” – SF Fun Cheap Parlor Tricks is the world’s first and foremost industrial ragtime band, a hot-music quartet led with sultry vocals, resonator guitar, upright bass and horn or drums. The music is a mix of swing, jazz standards, vaudeville and originals — all distinguished by syncopation and stomp. On this night at Stookey’s Blue Room, Parlor Tricks will delve into the 400+ song catalogue of the patron saint of swing — the composer, maestro, and raconteur Fats Waller.
