Patrick Wolff and the Truth Bebop Quartet bring hard‑swinging, straight‑ahead jazz to Specs’ Twelve Adler Museum Cafe, led by a saxophone and clarinet player with deep roots in the New York and San Francisco jazz scenes. With seven albums as a leader and a résumé that includes work with Albert “Tootie” Heath, George Cables, Marcus Shelby, and many others, Wolff’s playing blends lyricism with a full embrace of the bebop and hard bop lineage, while his long experience as a jazz educator and advocate (from hosting “Have You Heard” on KCSM to teaching at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Stanford Jazz Workshop) gives the quartet’s sets an extra sense of history and purpose.
