The Future of Play for the Young at Heart ―――――――――― Related Events: • Play Along! - Sunday July 12, 11:00am-5:00pm, pier 27 ―――――――――― Overview A free two day activation designed to invite people of all ages, especially teens, adults, and seniors, into a public space that fosters playful engagement in its many forms. More than just fun, the activation will educate visitors on how play impacts our mental, physical and social health; and ask the question: “How can we re-imagine public spaces to be more uplifting and playful?” What to Expect Fresh air, friendly faces, good vibes, and free activities for all ages and play personalities. There are parking lots near, by across from The Exploratorium and at pier 19.5. Walk-able from the ferry building and BART Accessibility & Considerations Wheel chair accessible for most of the events' features. We're turning community-sourced, expert-crafted visions of the future into art, storytelling, and participatory experiences. With 100+ events spanning every corner of the city (floral labyrinths, speculative future worlds, dance parties with a purpose, and neighborhood meet-ups), it's a living exploration of what a more creative and generative civic culture could feel like.
