REFLECTIONS presents an evening with Venice-based ambient composer Gigi Masin. Known for his magnificent releases on Music From Memory and Sacred Bones, Masin conjures a world as timeless as it is transcendent. Masin has been sampled by artists such as Björk and Post Malone, a testament to his universal, ethereal vision. Cole Pulice opens with a set for saxophone and live electronics. Prepare yourself for a magical evening, shrouded in projection-mapped light at this historic church.

GIGI MASIN is a multi-instrumentalist whose sound has evolved through landscapes of ambient, jazz, and electronic dance music. His work takes the listener into a realm of contemplation, a spellbound mind state where time and space appear to dissolve.
In 1986 Masin created Wind, an all-time ambient masterpiece. Self released and given away for free, Masin thought he’d made a jazz record; others called it ambient, but few really listened. He released Les Nouvelles Musiques De Chambre Volume 2 in 1989 with This Heat’s Charles Hayward, which would go on to be sampled by Björk and To Rococo Rot, but at the time, it hardly registered. No matter. Masin had moved on, working as a postal manager, living with his wife and kids and making music at the edges of the day for theatre productions and poetry readings.
In 2014, Masin was approached out of the blue by Amsterdam-based label Music From Memory to release Talk To The Sea. It was a compilation of his music, including material from Wind and the handful of recordings from the intervening decades that displayed the breadth of his talents, from zither and trumpet to synthesizers and radio sampling. In 2014, with Jonny Nash and Young Marco, Masin formed Gaussian Curve, an ambient supergroup that received international acclaim.
Movement, released in 2026 on Sacred Bones, is his next act. The tracks here are dynamic, draped in ambient hues but propelled by the vitality inherent to all great dance music. He describes it as “music for moving the body” or rhythm music for the romantic soul, reintroducing Masin on his own terms.

COLE PULICE is a saxophonist, composer, and improviser who traffics in shimmering, otherworldly beauty.
On Land’s End Eternal, their first album for Leaving Records, the Oakland-based artist expands their compositional palette beyond signal-processed saxophone to include layers of electric guitar and lush choral arrangements. The result is a prismatic collection of pastoral chamber jazz in six parts.
Cole’s previous release, a 22-minute electroacoustic odyssey titled If I Don’t See You in the Future, I’ll See You In the Pasture (Longform Editions, 2023), was named Best New Music by Pitchfork and included in the publication’s Best Songs Of The 2020s So Far.
