This time, we’re reading Meet Me in the Garden , a sweeping, ambitious family saga - inspired by the author's own grandparents - set from the 1940s to the 60s. The novel traces a Creole family that moves from New Orleans to Los Angeles, spanning the Jim Crow South to the Watts Riots. Booklist called it "a masterpiece that stands as an exceptional work of historical fiction" in a starred review. The meeting will be Sunday October 11 from 7-8:30pm, with author Nina LaCour joining for the second half of the conversation.
