San Francisco Opera - Mary, Queen of Scots

Thea Musgrave's 1977 opera Mary, Queen of Scots runs with the San Francisco Opera this year, in a co-production with the English National Opera. With Musgraves' score creating the perfect atmosphere of Elizabethan Scotland, the innovative musical orchestration is as irresistible as the drama of the story itself. Conducted by Clelia Cafiero making her debut with San Francisco Opera, Heidi Stober plays Queen Mary, reprising her role from the English National Opera's production.
