Acclaimed Mexico City–born bassist, composer, and arranger Saúl Sierra brings his quintet to Mr. Tipples for an evening of Pan-American Latin jazz. Educated at Berklee College of Music and a central figure on the San Francisco jazz and Afro-Caribbean circuits for more than two decades, Sierra has performed with legends such as Arturo Sandoval, Poncho Sanchez, and Paquito D’Rivera. Leading a horn-forward lineup with Charlie Gurke on tenor saxophone, Luis Rosa on alto saxophone, Julio Perez on congas, and Emilio Davalos on drums, Sierra guides the ensemble through sophisticated original arrangements that weave Afro-Cuban rhythms, traditional Mexican folk forms, and post-bop jazz harmonies into a dynamic, groove-centered performance. Three Shows: 6:30pm, 8pm and 9:30pm Tickets: $15-30
