Smith Dobson Quartet

The Smith Dobson Quartet brings nearly two decades of Bay Area jazz experience to the Deluxe, led by Smith Dobson — a rare triple threat on drums, vibraphone, and saxophone, and a Santa Cruz native steeped in the jazz tradition from birth. Dobson carries on a distinguished family legacy: his late father, Smith Dobson IV, was a renowned pianist who led the jazz series at the Garden City in San Jose for over twenty years, accompanying legends including Art Pepper, Stan Getz, Bobby Hutcherson, Chet Baker, and Lee Konitz.
