Mox Event Space (Mission 13th St) Event source calendar Event Link: see venue calendar above ^^ Join us at Mox for a fireside chat with Matt Krisiloff, CEO of Conception, about the company's recent milestone: generating early human egg cells from stem cells. Starting with a simple blood draw, Conception reprogrammed blood cells into induced pluripotent stem cells and guided them into miniature ovary-like structures containing early egg cells, a key step toward in-vitro gametogenesis. We'll discuss the biology and engineering of recreating the developmental environment an egg needs, the path from early cells to functional maturity, and the safety validation required before clinical use—plus the longer-term possibilities: expanding reproductive options for people facing age-related infertility or genetic disease, easing the burden of IVF, and using reproductive biology to better understand ovarian aging and menopause. The conversation will be moderated by Rachel Wallis of the Berkeley Genomics Project and the Reproductive Frontiers Summit. (This event's dinner will take the place of Mox Members' Dinner this week! If you're a Mox member, please feel free to join!) Host: Robin Goins More info: luma.com/mox-gg5f ―――――――――― SF Stuff To Do Do not edit this event! changes will be overwritten
