For this series at Keys Jazz Bistro, Tammy pays tribute to her mentors and influences, including Etta Jones,Ernestine Anderson,Denise Perrrier,Houston Person,Mary Lou Williams,Tania maria,Nina Simone-to name a few…. Tammy Hall brings Grammy Award-winning artistry and 40+ years of musical mastery to Keys Jazz Bistro — a pianist, composer, educator, and musical director who currently serves as a Lead Teaching Artist at SFJAZZ and has collaborated with an extraordinary range of artists including Terri Lyne Carrington, Regina Carter, Tia Fuller, Gerald Clayton, Etta Jones, Ernestine Anderson, Tiffany Austin, Mimi Fox, and Destiny Muhammad. The inaugural Artist-in-Residence at the Healdsburg Jazz Festival in 2021, she also received the Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle award for Best Musical Direction for her work on Pamela Rose’s Blues Is A Woman, and was honored with the inaugural Pleasant-Leidesdorff Community Stalwart award from the San Francisco Human Rights Commission — making her one of the most celebrated and community-rooted musicians on the Bay Area scene today.
