Vocalist Kay Kostopoulos CD Release Party

Vocalist Kay Kostopoulos launches her new recording, "All This is Possible!" at Bird & Beckett tonight! Kay will also explore excerpts from Homer's Odyssey and jazz songs featuring legendary women including Delilah, Circe, Cleopatra and Persephone. Noel Jewkes, reeds; John DiMartino, piano and arrangements; Carla Kaufman, bass; Mark Lee, drums.  Stanford teacher and actress, Kay Kostopoulos conceived Black Olive Jazz drawing from her acting background and her Mediterranean heritage to establish a unique sound in Jazz. Music from film, the Broadway stage to jazz standards, culminating in an homage to such enduring masters as Duke Ellington and Dizzy Gillespie and their groundbreaking offerings to the “world music” genre.
